Where We Are Now

July 11, 2006
It has been awhile since I have updated the site. I apologize for the long pause...but after working so hard on this update (this is now my 4th try) I understand why it has been awhile.

First of all, I want to update you on where we are in the process...closer. As you may know, all paperwork is dated when it gets to China. Our paperwork is dated August 23, 2005. Our agency just received notification that babies for paperwork dated through June 28, 2005 are coming home. We truly are closer, but it could still be quite some time...one never knows. Our prayer is that we will bring our Kaylee home for Christmas. Please continue your prayers...the wait is getting harder and harder.

Secondly, I would like to thank those of you who participated in our 'Long-Distance Shower'. This was the idea of a college friend of mine who adopted and could not cover all the fees. My friends thought it was a fabulous idea and therefore decided to give it a whirl for our family. We appreciate the cards and money sent and all of it is in 'the jar' to help cover the costs of bringing Kaylee home.

Finally, THE QUILTS ARE FINISHED!!! This has been a year long project. I remember sitting at the sewing machine for hours last summer piecing these together. They turned out beautifully and will be cherished for years to come. I ended up making 3...here's the story. My original plan was to make one large quilt. As I received beautiful and unique pieces of fabric in the mail, I decided that I really did not want Kaylee having 'accidents' on the quilt, so I would hang it on the wall (the large picture in the middle)...but what use was making this fabulous quilt that is supposed to wrap her in love if she couldnt even use it?? So, a small quilt for Kaylee to use, drag around and love came to life (the small one with yellow trim). Then, as I explained to Jake what I was doing, he said, 'Why does Kaylee get 2 quilts and I don't get any?' Quilt number 3 just took life (the small one with purple trim). I could not stand having my son jealous of Kaylee before she even got here! We will take both of the small quilts with us and wrap Kaylee in hers the minute we get her! It was a fun project, but one I am glad is complete!
Please continue to check back. This site is soon to 'heat up'. We are almost at the end of this wait! Love to all!
